Project Overview:
The "Qualified Vocational High School is Possible with My European Internship" project was developed to
address the growing need for skilled professionals in the fields of chemistry technology and related industries in Turkey. The project aimed to equip students and teachers from Batman Vocational and
Technical Anatolian High School (Batman MTAL) with the skills and knowledge required to meet international standards, thereby enhancing their employability and professional
competencies.
ARDA’s Role in the Project:
ARDA Beratung & Beratung GmbH was responsible for organizing and managing the Germany segment of the
project. Leveraging our expertise in coordinating international training programs, we played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the internships and professional development activities in
Berlin, Germany.
Our contributions included:
- Internship Coordination in Germany:** ARDA facilitated the placement of students in reputable organizations
in Berlin. These internships provided hands-on training in "Analysis Parameters and Techniques of Water," focusing on sensory, physical, chemical, radiological, and microbiological analysis.
Specifically:
- Berlin, Germany: TÜV Rheinland hosted five students from May 16 to June 5, 2021. These
students gained practical experience in cutting-edge facilities, working alongside industry professionals to develop their technical skills.
- Professional Development for Teachers in Germany: ARDA organized on-the-job observation and training
programs for teachers in Berlin. These programs, conducted in collaboration with Bayer - Schering AG, Berlin Chemie AG, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung, and other institutions, focused on
"Learning Professional Innovation and Innovative Professional Approaches." The training sessions were designed to provide teachers with the latest insights and practices from leading industry
experts.
- Cultural and Language Integration: ARDA also ensured that the participants were well-prepared for the
cultural and linguistic aspects of their time in Germany. Intercultural communication and language learning were integrated into the program, helping participants adapt to the international work
environment and gain valuable soft skills.
Key Outcomes and Impact:
The project, with ARDA’s involvement in Germany, led to significant outcomes:
- Enhanced Student Skills: The students who participated in the German internship returned with advanced
technical skills in water analysis, making them highly competitive in the job market. Their exposure to international standards and best practices further increased their
employability.
- Teacher Development: The teachers who
participated in the German training programs acquired innovative professional approaches, which they have since incorporated into their teaching methods, raising the educational standards at Batman
MTAL.
- Increased Awareness of EU Values: Both students and teachers gained a deeper understanding of the
importance of foreign languages, multiculturalism, and European Union values, enhancing their confidence and motivation in both their professional and personal lives.
- Regional and International Impact: The project fostered greater cooperation between vocational education
institutions and industries both locally and internationally. This alignment of educational outcomes with the needs of the regional and global economy also helped to promote EU values within the
region.
Sustainability and Future Prospects:
The partnerships and experiences gained through this project have established a strong foundation for future
initiatives. ARDA remains committed to supporting vocational education and training, ensuring that the positive outcomes from the German segment of the project are sustained and expanded. We aim to
apply the lessons learned to other fields, enhancing the long-term sustainability and impact of our collaborative efforts.
