Project description
Medical informatics software and devices are playing an increasingly important role for healthcare professionals in view of the expanding flow of information in the healthcare sector. The increasing investment in medical informatics for the digitization of health information has simultaneously increased the need for qualified personnel in the field of medical informatics. Therefore, it is of significant importance that medical personnel such as physician assistants, nurses, radiologists, physicians, etc. receive IT training for practical healthcare in addition to their professional training.
Although the number of medical informatics courses offered in vocational schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions in Turkey has increased in recent years, most of them are too theoretical. Research studies on "medical informatics education in Turkey" have shown that education in this field is inadequate. This is primarily due to the lack of professional qualifications of the staff.
In line with the EU 2020 targets, the E-Learning Platform for Medical Informatics to Improve Vocational and ICT Skills (E-MEDIVIP) aims to improve the skills of medical informatics professionals through an interactive learning platform and training modules,
to develop the skills of people who have received or are still receiving training in the field of medical IT systems in accordance with international standards
to expand the skills in the field of medical IT systems of students at vocational health schools and medical and medical technology students at technical colleges and universities through e-learning modules at various educational levels
to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, pharmacologists, managers, IT professionals and engineers through e-learning modules at different educational levels
to create national qualifications in the field of medical informatics through international cooperation
