Objective:
The primary aim of this project is to combat the spread of disinformation by integrating media education and digital literacy. The specific
objectives include:
1. Equip Participants with Skills:
- Empower participants to identify and counteract disinformation using machine learning and deepfake detection techniques.
- Organize workshops on topics such as detecting online trolls, creating digital brochures, programming, and engaging in online activities like e-books and blogs.
- Enhance media literacy and digital skills among participants.
2. Address EU Priorities:
- Support the EU Action Plan (2021-2027) by fostering digital readiness and resilience.
- Develop learning skills, transferable knowledge, and interdisciplinary application abilities among participants.
- Build digital security competencies among teachers and school leaders, integrating these skills into the educational environment.
3. Promote Cultural Awareness and Safety:
- Use international mobility and encounters to enrich cultural awareness and expressive abilities.
- Offer lectures on safe internet practices and managing digital footprints, focusing on developing risk management strategies.
- Create a comprehensive media literacy curriculum that includes research, disinformation detection practices, and practical experiences.
Motivation for Funding:
This project is motivated by the urgent need to address the growing threat of disinformation, as highlighted in EU reports. It recognizes
significant gaps in media literacy and digital skills, aligning with EU priorities and Erasmus+ themes in the context of the post-truth era. The project aims to respond to the increasing influence of
social media platforms in spreading disinformation.
Addressing the Needs of Participating Organizations:
By fostering multinational collaboration, this project acknowledges the global nature of disinformation and focuses on bridging gaps in digital skills and media literacy. It emphasizes the
improvement of personal, social, and professional skills for both students and teachers.
