Thirty-three vocational teachers from twenty-two provinces of Turkey completed a four-week Vocational and Educational Training Program. This program was prepared by ARDA Consulting & Education in cooperation with its expert network. Participants updated their practical knowledge, refreshed their pedagogical skills, and broadened their job-related skills and competencies. The training included structured courses, job-shadowing, observation periods, workshops, seminars, and presentations at various institutions such as:

 

  • Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Berlin - Meeting with the Educational Attaché, Dr. Gürsel Gür

 

  • Federal Chancellery of Germany

 

  • Willy-Brandt-Haus (Working department of the Social Democrat Party (SPD))

 

  • German Red Cross (Elisabeth-Weiske-Heim, development of children with special needs)

 

  • Six Nursery Schools:
  1. Mittelhof e.V. (Practical Seminars/ Job-Shadowing)
  2. Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus (Practical Seminars/ Job-Shadowing)
  3. Campus Berufsbildung e.V. (Practical Seminars/ Job-Shadowing)
  4. Two German Red Cross Nursery Schools (Practical Seminars/ Job-Shadowing)
  5. AWO - Arbeiterwohlfahrt Berlin
  6. Volkssolidarität Berlin - Kita Paule Platsch

 

  • Helmut Kleebank, Mayor of District Berlin - Spandau

 

 

The program was designed to comprehensively enhance the professional capabilities of the participants through a blend of practical and theoretical approaches. This included hands-on experience in various child development settings, exposure to international educational practices, and opportunities to engage with experts in the field.

 

Participants gained insights into the German educational system and child care standards, allowing them to compare and contrast with practices in Turkey. They also developed a deeper understanding of inclusive education and the integration of children with special needs into mainstream settings. Additionally, the networking opportunities with international professionals fostered a collaborative learning environment and encouraged the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices.

 

Furthermore, the teachers explored innovative teaching methodologies and the latest research in child development and care. They learned about different pedagogical approaches, the use of technology in education, and strategies for engaging parents and communities in the educational process. The program also emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and lifelong learning for educators.

 

Overall, the program equipped the vocational teachers with advanced skills and knowledge, empowering them to implement improved educational strategies and practices in child development and care upon their return to Turkey. This comprehensive training experience not only benefited the teachers but also aimed to positively impact the educational outcomes for children in their respective regions.
