Activities / Educational Program:
A total of 28 vocational teachers from 22 provinces across Turkey participated in a four-week vocational and
educational training programme. Developed and successfully implemented by ARDA Consulting & Education in collaboration with its expert network, the programme enabled participants to update their
knowledge of work practices, refresh their pedagogical skills and broaden their job-related skills and competencies. The programme comprised structured courses, job shadowing, observation periods,
workshops, seminars and presentations at various institutions, including:
- RBB (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg)
- Bundespressekonferenz, meeting with Stefan Seibert (Press Secretary of the Chancellor's Office) and ministerial
representatives
- IPN (International Press News

- Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (Press department)
- Kunstatelier des Kulturwerks des Berufsverbandes Bildender

The program was designed to comprehensively enhance the professional capabilities of the participants
through a blend of practical and theoretical approaches. This included:
- Hands-on Experience: Participants engaged in job-shadowing and practical seminars at
prominent media institutions such as ARD, Deutsche Welle, and RBB, allowing them to observe and participate in advanced broadcasting and journalism practices. This exposure provided invaluable
insights into modern media production techniques, newsroom operations, and editorial decision-making processes.
- Theoretical Training: Workshops and seminars at institutions like the Axel-Springer
Akademie and the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation offered in-depth knowledge on the latest educational theories and methodologies relevant to journalism, TV & radio, and photography & graphic arts.
These sessions covered topics such as multimedia storytelling, digital journalism, and the ethical implications of media in society.
- Cultural and Professional Exchange: Meetings with officials and industry leaders,
including a session at the Bundespressekonferenz with Stefan Seibert and ministerial representatives, facilitated cultural exchange and provided a deeper understanding of the German media landscape
and its regulatory environment. These interactions underscored the importance of press freedom, transparency, and the role of media in democratic societies.
- Networking Opportunities: Interactions with peers and experts from various media organizations fostered a
collaborative learning environment, promoting the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices. Participants were encouraged to build professional networks that could support ongoing collaboration
and knowledge sharing.
Additionally, the program emphasized the importance of:
- Technological Advancements: Learning about the latest innovations in media technology and
how to incorporate these advancements into the vocational education curriculum in Turkey. Participants explored areas such as digital broadcasting, social media integration, and the use of AI in
journalism.
- Creative and Visual Arts: Enhancing skills in photography and graphic design through
workshops at the Kunstatelier des Kulturwerks des Berufsverbandes Bildender Künstler, where participants learned about contemporary art techniques and their application in media and
communication.
- Global Perspectives: Gaining insights into global trends and standards in journalism and
media, helping to align Turkish vocational training with international best practices. Discussions covered the global media landscape, international journalism ethics, and the challenges and
opportunities presented by digital transformation in the media industry.
Overall, the program was designed to provide vocational teachers with advanced skills and knowledge,
enabling them to apply enhanced educational strategies and practices in journalism, TV & radio, and photography & graphic arts when they return to Turkey. This comprehensive training
experience not only benefited the teachers but also aimed to improve the educational outcomes for students in their respective regions. By fostering a culture of innovation and continuous
improvement, the program aimed to develop a more skilled and adaptable workforce capable of meeting the challenges of the rapidly evolving media industry.
