Activities / Educational Program:

Twenty-nine vocational teachers from twenty-two provinces of Turkey have completed a four-week Vocational and Educational Training Program. This program was prepared by ARDA Consulting & Education in cooperation with its expert network. Participants updated their knowledge of work practices, refreshed their pedagogical skills, and broadened their job-related skills and competencies. The measures included structured courses, job-shadowing, observation periods, workshops, seminars, and presentations at various institutions such as:

  • Siemens

  • TÜV

  • Türkisch-Deutschen Industrie und Handelskammer (TD-IHK)

  • Vocational High Schools:

  • Loschmidt-Oberschule

  • Georg-Schlesinger-Schule – Oberstufenzentrum Maschinen- und Fertigungstechnik

  • Max-Taut-Schule - Oberstufenzentrum Gebäude-Umwelt-Technik

  • IG-Metall Berlin (Trade Union)

The program was designed to comprehensively enhance the professional capabilities of the participants through a blend of practical and theoretical approaches. This included:

  • Hands-on Experience: Participants engaged in job-shadowing and practical seminars at renowned institutions such as Siemens and TÜV, where they observed and participated in advanced metal technology practices. This provided them with firsthand experience in modern manufacturing techniques and quality control processes.

  • Theoretical Training: Workshops and seminars at various vocational high schools, including Georg-Schlesinger-Schule and Max-Taut-Schule, offered in-depth knowledge on the latest educational theories and methodologies relevant to metal technology. These sessions covered topics such as the integration of digital tools in metalworking, CNC machining, and sustainable manufacturing practices.

  • Cultural and Professional Exchange: Meetings with the Türkisch-Deutschen Industrie und Handelskammer (TD-IHK) and IG-Metall Berlin facilitated cultural exchange and a deeper understanding of the German vocational education system and labor market dynamics. These interactions highlighted the importance of industry partnerships and labor unions in shaping vocational training programs.

  • Networking Opportunities: Interactions with peers and experts from various vocational high schools and industry leaders fostered a collaborative learning environment, promoting the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices. Participants were encouraged to build professional networks that could support ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Additionally, the program emphasized the importance of:

  • Technological Advancements: Learning about the latest innovations and developments in metal technology and how to incorporate these advancements into the vocational education curriculum in Turkey. Participants explored areas such as automation, robotics, and the use of smart materials in manufacturing.

  • Sustainability and Environmental Practices: Raising awareness of sustainable manufacturing techniques and eco-friendly practices in the metalworking industry. The program included sessions on reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and promoting environmental stewardship in vocational training.

  • Global Perspectives: Gaining insights into global trends and standards in metal technology, helping to align Turkish vocational training with international best practices. Discussions covered the global supply chain, international trade regulations, and the role of technological innovation in maintaining competitiveness in the global market.

Overall, the program aimed to equip the vocational teachers with advanced skills and knowledge, empowering them to implement improved educational strategies and practices in metal technology upon their return to Turkey. This comprehensive training experience not only benefited the teachers but also aimed to positively impact the educational outcomes for students in their respective regions. By fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, the program sought to contribute to the development of a more skilled and adaptable workforce, capable of meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry.
